A well-known downtown Macon businessman is planning to renovate a nightclub he owns and rename it.
Cesare Mammarella plans to open Asylum at 543 Plum St., the location of the former Dirty Iguana, which closed at the end of November.
“We are shooting to open in April,” Mammarella said. “We are trying to create a different feel in there.”
The club’s name was created “because I wanted to do something crazy, something totally different, new... and Asylum just came to mind,” he said.
Never miss a local story.
Mammarella also owns Luigi’s Bistro, Tic Toc Room, Dolce Vita and Jack and Coat Clothiers, all in downtown Macon.
