The Robins Air Show featuring the Navy Blue Angels experienced record-breaking attendance this weekend, according to a Monday news release from Robins Air Force Base.
About 180,000 people overall attended, with 110,000 of those visiting on Saturday, the release stated. About 150,000 were estimated to have attended the base’s last air show in 2009.
“Robins Air Force Base salutes the thousands of patriots who came out this weekend to show their outstanding support to our nation’s finest,” Col. Mitchel Butikofer, Robins installation commander, said in a news release. “From the Navy Blue Angels, Air Force F-22 and civilian aerial demonstration teams, our guests were able to witness American air superiority firsthand.”
Butikofer also thanked guests for their patience on Saturday as the base worked through logistical issues related to the large turnout.
