WARNER ROBINS -- A 27-year-old Warner Robins man was sentenced Wednesday to 14 years in prison for the 2010 statutory rape of a teenager.
Jermaine Donte Tucker was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Edward D. Lukemire immediately after a Houston County jury found Tucker guilty of the statutory rape, said John E. Fowler, an assistant district attorney who prosecuted the case.
The jury also found Tucker not guilty of aggravated child molestation and child molestation following the two-day trial, Fowler said.
Tucker’s sentence also included six years probation upon release from prison, a $5,000 fine plus court fees and banishment from Houston County and its contiguous counties, Fowler said.
Tucker, who was 26 at the time of the incident, was convicted of taking advantage of a 14-year-old girl by having sex with her while her mother was at work, a district attorney’s office news release stated. Tucker and the girl had initially corresponded on Facebook.
“That’s absolutely inexcusable,” Fowler said by telephone.
Matt Drury, a Houston County public defender representing Tucker, could not be reached immediately for comment.
