Country star Rodney Atkins and hip-hop group Digital Underground are among the acts scheduled to perform at this year’s Cherry Blossom Festival Street Party on March 24.
Atkins is best-known for hits such as “Take a Back Road,” “These Are My People,” and “Watching You,” and has sold about 4 million singles in the past five years.
Digital Underground, an award-winning hip-hop act from Oakland, Calif., has sold more than 10 million albums since forming in the mid-1980s.
Also performing during the Street Party is Stevens Lane, an up-and-coming Nashville group -- which includes Macon native Molly Stevens -- as well as hip-hop group Nappy Roots and local R&B artist Bo Ponder. Also playing will be Gasoline Bros., who are doing a trek across Georgia to raise money for The Wounded Warrior Project, according to the band’s website.
The Cherry Blossom Festival will be held March 16-25. Street Party tickets are $12 in advance, $20 on the day of the show. Tickets will be on sale beginning Feb. 15 through Mercer Ticket Sales.
