Four people were shot outside a Milledgeville nightclub just after midnight Sunday, according to Milledgeville police.
Several fights broke out inside Level 3, 224 E. Walton St. and escalated as people moved outside the club, said Wanda Holsey, the police detective investigating the shooting.
Holsey said she couldn’t release the identities of the people shot because some of the victims could be suspects. She did describe them as men between the ages of 19 and 22.
Of the four men shot, three were shot in the leg and were treated at an area hospital on Sunday before being released. The fourth man is in serious condition at a local hospital. He also was shot in the leg, Holsey said.
Holsey conducted interviews with witnesses Monday and expects to continue interviews Tuesday.
No weapons were recovered and police still are trying to determine what sparked the fighting, Holsey said.
Phone and e-mail messages left for the club were not immediately returned Monday.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the police department’s anonymous tip line at 478-414-4413 or Holsey at 478-414-4072.
