Interstate construction projects starting Friday morning could hamper traffic in Bibb, Twiggs and Bleckley counties.
Construction work begins at 7 a.m. Friday when the Interstate 16 westbound off-ramp at Exit 24, with Ga. 96, gets closed for construction. Closures next week will cover other I-16 ramps at Ga. 96 as well as Ga. 112’s Exit 32.
Beginning Friday night, work begins on Interstate 75 in Macon near Exit 167 and the Sabbath Creek Bridge. The Friday night work will close a lane on I-75 southbound for a guardrail repairs. Starting at 6 a.m. Saturday, one lane of Interstate 75 northbound will close near the Pierce Avenue exit, Exit 167, for the installation of a drainage pipe. That work is expected to wrap up Sunday morning.
