WARNER ROBINS -- Although Mayor Chuck Shaheen is set to meet with a Warner Robins golf course owner Wednesday morning, he said an acquisition of the property was unlikely.
“We don’t have the money,” he said. “If they gave it to us, I don’t know that we’ll take the course. I can’t see us trying to manage two courses.”
Shaheen confirmed he and the owners of the Landings Golf Club on Stathams Way will meet to discuss the possibility of the city taking over the land.
The city currently manages the International City Golf Club. The city bought the course in 1991 and plans to pay off the $1.59 million loan this year.

The golf course reopened in September after renovations.
