GRANT BLANKENSHIP/THE TELEGRAPH Stephen McDaniel is led from a court room in the Bibb County Courthouse Monday morning after entering a plea of not guilty on sex charges that flowed from the investigation into the murder of Lauren Giddings.
Stephen McDaniel has pleaded not guilty to 30 counts of sexual exploitation of children.
McDaniel, 26, also faces the death penalty in the June slaying of Lauren Giddings.
He is charged with killing the 27-year-old, his fellow Mercer law school classmate and next-door neighbor, in late June.
Giddings’ torso was found on the morning of June 30 in a roll-away trash bin beside the Georgia Avenue apartments where she and McDaniel had lived since starting law school in 2008. They both graduated in May.
