Police responding to a shooting and burglary Sunday in south Macon found a 17-year-old who was shot in the chest.
Officers were called to a Hightower Road residence about 3:55 a,m. There, the teen, who was not identified, gave officers “conflicting stories” about the shooting at the home and later at The Medical Center of Central Georgia, where he received treatment for the gunshot wound, according to a Macon police news release. He was released from the hospital.
Police asked that anyone with information on this shooting, the victim or shooter, call police at 751-7500.
Witnesses at the scene claimed that police shot the teenager, and police officials initially refused to release information concerning the incident.
