The timing of food stamp payments in Georgia will change starting in November as the state begins using a new system that mails out benefits based on the last two digits of the client ID for the head of household.
Clients will still receive their benefits between the fourth and the 14th day of each month, but the exact date will depend on their ID.
For a chart showing which day checks will be mailed for each set of client IDs, visit the Department of Human Resources website at www.dhr.gov and look under “news & events” and then “news releases.”
The change is being made to ensure that clients receive food stamp benefits on the same date each month, according to a news release by the state Department of Human Resources.
Those who need assistance in acquiring a client ID may contact their local DFCS office.
