Some 23 vehicles are being auctioned off Saturday on behalf of the Bibb County government, along with equipment from the Macon Water Authority and a shiny black 1971 Camaro being sold by bankruptcy court.
Bibb County purchasing agent Barry Smallwood said he’s not sure how much money the county may net from the auction, but buyers may find some deals.
“It just depends on who shows up and how bad they want something,” Smallwood said.
Bibb County’s auction includes 12 former sheriff’s office Crown Victorias from 2005 or earlier; a seized 1999 Range Rover; and a 2004 International 4200 truck that was used by the Public Works Department.
Other surplus government items include a rapid distiller and three portable trash pumps used by the Macon Water Authority. Bankruptcy court items include a tractor with loader, campers and a boat. Other items include vehicles on consignment and guns from an estate sale.
The auction begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at T. Lynn Davis Realty and Auction Co., 4459 Broadway, Macon.
