WARNER ROBINS -- Local businessman Tim Thomas is running for the Post 2, at-large seat of Warner Robins City Council.
Thomas, 48, made the announcement at City Hall on Monday morning with about 15 to 20 supporters in attendance, including his wife, Carol, and his sons, Connor and Greer.
Thomas owns both Parkway Bonding and GSTC Monitoring Co.
Among Thomas’s top priorities are improving infrastructure to attract business, spending conservatively and working with the mayor and other council members to move the city forward.
“I feel like I can do a lot for this post. I’ve been in this town my entire life,” Thomas said. “I need to step up. If I’m going to be vocal about the community, I need to serve the community.”
Thomas’ father served on Warner Robins City Council in the mid-1970s and 1980s.
Voters will choose their representative for the Post 2, at-large seat, currently held by Councilman Tom Simms Jr., in November. Simms has not said whether he will run again.
