WARNER ROBINS — Two people are accused of the armed robbery of the Comfort Inn & Suites at 201 Lect Drive in Perry early Thursday.
Jimmy Bernard Brown, 22, of Fort Valley, and a 16-year-old boy who had previously been banished from Houston County and thought to be living in Miami, Fla., were charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and obstruction of an officer in the 6:19 a.m. incident, said Perry police Capt. Heath Dykes.
Brown was also charged with fleeing and attempting to elude.
The two are accused of entering the hotel lobby and demanding money from the front desk clerk, who refused, Dykes said. Brown allegedly then brandished a handgun but the clerk still refused to give them money.
The two fled, and the hotel’s video surveillance captured the getaway car. Police chased the car down Edwards Street, which dead-ends near woods. The car was crashed, and the two fled into the woods.
The juvenile, whose identity is shielded under state law, was captured about 50 feet away from the car, Dykes said.
Brown was captured hiding under a shed behind a home on Halliburton Street, Dykes said.
