A woman and five children escaped a burning house in south Macon early Friday morning.
Macon-Bibb County firefighters are investigating the cause of a blaze at 1374 Dewey Street which is between Pio Nono and Houston avenues in south Macon.
Heavy flames were coming out of the front side of the single-story, wood home as crews arrived shortly after 6 a.m. Friday, said Capt. Clarence Maynard. Firefighters extinguished the fire in about 30 minutes.
