WARNER ROBINS - Alabama (Huntsville East) defeated South Carolina (Carolina Forest) 10-3 in a Little League Baseball Southeastern Region Tournament pool play game Monday.
In Tuesday's consolation games, Alabama (1-2) plays Tennessee (0-3) at 10 a.m. and South Carolina (0-3) will play the No. 3 seed from Pool A (either Virginia or West Virginia) at 1 p.m.
South Carolina took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second on an RBI single to right field by Brendon Calvert.
In the top of the third, Alabama took a 3-1 lead on a three-run home run from Colton Schultz. Cole Prestegard scored on James Buchnan's sacrifice fly to make it 4-1. Alabama added another run on a passed ball in the fifth for a 5-1 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth, Calvert scored on Patrick Orlando's sacrifice fly to left field to cut the lead to 5-2. South Carolina cut the lead to 5-3 when Matthew Weatherwax scored on a passed ball.
Jake Christa hit a solo home run in the top of the sixth to push Alabama's lead to 6-3. Luke Beasley hit a two-run home run to drive the score to 8-3. Alabama added another run on an error, then Daniel Wright hit an RBI single to make it 10-3.
