A 17-year-old girl was shot in the throat Friday evening in south Macon’s Village Green neighborhood.
The shooting happened about 7 p.m. at 2828 Shamrock Lane, according to a news release from the Macon Police Department. When police arrived at the scene, they found the wounded girl.
Because of her injuries, she was unable to speak.
The girl was taken to a local hospital, where she underwent surgery Friday night. She was in stable condition Saturday afternoon at the hospital, according to police public information officer Jami Gaudet.
