Bibb County Sheriff’s investigators Saturday arrested an escapee from Gwinnett County.
Jerome Little, 26, of Marietta was found about 7:30 p.m. Saturday hiding in a water heater closet in a home in west Bibb County, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Little had been sentenced to Gwinnett County’s work release program for two counts of theft and two counts of deposit account fraud, all felonies. April 4, he left for work in the morning but did not report back to authorities in the evening. The Duluth Police Department took out a warrant on Little for car theft because after the escape, he apparently wrote a bad check for $16,500 to a car lot for a 2005 Cadillac Escalade.
Bibb investigators received information Little might be at a residence in Bibb County. In addition to arresting Little, they also recovered the stolen Escalade there. Little was taken to the Bibb County jail and was transported to the Gwinnett County jail about noon Sunday.
