A nursing facility, including a therapy building and a nursing home, is planned off Riverside Drive and Arkwright Road in Bibb County.
A conditional-use permit application for the facility at 5293 Riverside Drive and 5778 Arkwright Road is expected to be discussed Monday at the Macon-Bibb County Planning & Zoning Commission meeting.
The two properties will be combined to create a 15.59-acre tract and the project will be developed in two phases, according to the commission’s staff report.
Phase one will be a two-story, 66,416-square-foot building on 8 acres that will serve as a nursing facility. It will include a 3,980-square-foot therapy building and a 63,436-square-foot nursing home, offices, dining room, hair shop, spa, covered porch, maintenance and laundry rooms, the report states.

The therapy center will offer physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and pathology services. The nursing home will offer 67 private rooms.
Phase two will include developing the remaining 7.5 acres, which is proposed for future professional medical offices.
The applicant, Health Systems Real Estate Inc., is requesting final site plan approval for phase one and conceptual plan approval for phase two.
The zoning meeting begins at 1:30 p.m. at Macon City Hall, 700 Poplar St.
