Heavy rains of up to five inches of rain through Tuesday are prompting a flood watch from the National Weather Service.
A slow moving storm system will linger over Georgia and even with somewhat dry soil conditions the downpours are expected to runoff quickly into creeks, streams and rivers. Flash flooding is possible on roads if storm drains clog.
The flood watch is in effect from 8 a.m. today until Tuesday evening.
