Severe thunderstorms pelted parts of Bibb, Putnam and Hancock counties Sunday night.
The National Weather Service reports hail measuring 1.75 inches in diameter fell six miles northwest of Macon at about 10:15 p.m. as a passing thunderstorm reached severe levels.
Thunderstorms unleashed the same size hail in Hancock County about a mile north of Devereux and three miles northwest of Sparta just before 10 p.m. The first line of storms moving through at about 7 p.m. dumped 1.75 inch hail in Putnam County six miles southeast of Eatonton and two miles southwest of Reynolds Plantation.
There were no reports of major damage, according to dispatchers at all three sheriff's offices.
The passing front that triggered the severe weather will bring cooler temperatures and strong winds today with highs in the lower 60s and gusts of up to 25 miles per hour.
