A Sandersville man was killed and his grandson was critically injured Tuesday morning after their car collided with a logging truck on Ga. 24, officials said.
Washington County Coroner E.K. May said Ralph Jackson of Sandersville died when his Mercury Grand Marquis collided with the truck driven by Wyman Landers of Stapleton at about 10:30 a.m.
Jackson’s grandson, Chris Jackson, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, where he is in critical condition, May said.
May said the crash was an accident and that no charges are being filed against Landers.

The wreck happened at Ga. 24 and Deepstep Road in Sandersville, May said. Investigators say Jackson pulled out in front of the truck.
