With a forecast of up to three inches of rain possible across parts of Georgia through tonight, the National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch.
Soil moisture is high after weekend rains which means today's rain may quickly run off causing creeks, rivers and streams to rise. Water may puddle on low-lying areas of roads throughout the day.
Widespread amounts of up to two inches of rain is expected with higher totals in isolated areas. The greatest rainfall is forecast south of a line from Buchanan to Cumming to Danielsville.
The flash flood watch is in effect through 7 p.m. tonight.
