A Dublin man was killed Wednesday afternoon when he lost control of his vehicle and drove it into a private pond, a spokesman with the Georgia State Patrol said.
Ronald Gibbs Blount Sr., 49, of 795 Rose Ave. in Dublin, was driving north on Robert Webb Road at about 3:30 p.m. when he lost control of his Dodge Stratus, the GSP said. He hit a ditch on the east side of the road, then one on the west side before entering a private pond.
Blount was unable to get out of the car and drowned, the spokesman said. A woman traveling with Blount was able to get out of the car in time and wasn’t injured. The spokesman didn’t have her identity.
