No charges will be filed against the driver of a vehicle that struck three teenage boys who were riding on a bicycle Tuesday night, according to Macon police.
Lashanda Greene, 24, told officers she was driving on Newberg Avenue just after 8 p.m. after leaving Beulahland Bible Church. As she approached Baker Street, she heard a loud crash and her windshield collapsed, according to a police news release.
Greene told officers she didn’t see anyone.
The driver of the bicycle, 16-year-old Deon Scott, told officers that he and two other boys were riding a small BMX bike. As they prepared to cross Newberg Avenue at Baker Street, they saw no cars coming, according to the release. But as Scott crossed the road, the bike collided with Greene’s car.
Reginald Davis, 14, was riding on the handle bars and sustained serious head injuries in the crash. He’s listed in critical condition at a hospital, according to the release.
Kenard Royal, 17, was riding on a set of pegs on the rear tire. He complained of injuries and received treatment. Scott sustained minor lacerations and received treatment, according to the release.
Greene sustained minor injuries.
