Southbound traffic is flowing again on Interstate 75 after a tractor trailer crashed into a parked van near mile marker 193 at about 1 a.m.
All southbound lanes were closed for hours in the one-mile stretch near Johnstonville Road.
The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department's Hazardous Materials Unit was called to inspect the truck.
"The haz-mat team suited up in level B suits to make sure there was no leak," said Macon-Bibb County Fire Dept. battalion commander John Malcolm. "We got to reopen the interstate which is good."
The rig separated from the trailer off the side of the road and the driver was taken to The Medical Center of Central Georgia, Malcolm said.
Authorities were still on the scene early today as the material will be loaded onto another trailer before the truck can be uprighted and removed.
Expect traffic to be slow in that area until the wreck can be cleared.
