Heavy rains led to flooding that has closed some Monroe County roads today.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office reports Treadwell, Old Brent, Ebenezer, Castleberry Loop and English roads are closed.
English Road and Treadwell Road should be open by noon, Old Brent should be open by the end of the day and it could be three or four days for water to clear off Ebenezer Road, which is surrounded by Lake Juliette, said Sid Banks, Monroe County roads superintendent.
"Old Mother Nature is working on Monroe County," Banks said after inspecting flooded streets. "There is no major damage, nothing dangerous to citizens and no washouts."
Never miss a local story.
Banks urged drivers to use caution especially on dirt roads that are reduced to one lane.
