Zaxby’s at the corner of Riverside Drive and Spring Street will be closed for the next week as it gets a face-lift.
Construction workers began remodeling the building Tuesday.
The work includes painting and new flower beds outside and new furniture and other upgrades inside. “You’ll be able to tell the difference,” said Chad Oliver, director of operations for Zaxby’s. “It’s a much needed upgrade.”
The restaurant has been open at that location for about 10 years.
Bobby Quinn, of Pace Setter Construction Co., the contractor doing the work, said he has also recently remodeled the Zaxby’s restaurants on Northside Drive in Macon, North Davis Drive in Warner Robins and Perry.
Oliver said he hopes the store will reopen next Wednesday while some construction would still be taking place.
