Four midstate companies are among the 5,000 fastest-growing businesses in the country.
The companies making Inc. magazine’s annual list included three from Macon and one from Fort Valley.
The highest-ranking local business was Infinity Network Solutions, a Macon information technology company.
Infinity was No. 1479 on the Inc. 5000, with a growth rate of 217 percent.

The company posted $492,733 in revenue over the last year, the magazine said.
Next on the list was Macon’s Birch Communications at No. 2135.
The telecommunications company grew at a rate of 148.5 percent and had $150.8 million in revenue, according to the magazine.
The Wire Shop in Fort Valley came in at No. 3989.
The company, which makes wire harnesses and cable assemblies, grew by more than 51 percent with $7.9 million in revenue.
A Macon manufacturer, ShuBee Inc., was at No. 2828. ShuBee, which makes disposable shoe covers, coveralls and other service industry products, grew at almost 11 percent and had $3.1 million in revenue.
