The Warner Robins American Little League softball team is scheduled to play the first of two semifinal games today at the Southeast Regional in Ceredo-Kenova, W.Va. First pitch is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
The top seed from Pool A, WRALL will play Virginia, which emerged from Pool B as the No. 2 seed after knocking off West Virginia 2-1 on Sunday. That game was a makeup of an earlier postponement. As a result, the tournament is one day behind schedule.
Team Georgia practiced Sunday afternoon but not before getting a little mall time and scouting its next opponent.
“They’re a good team,” manager Emily Whaley said of Virginia, “but we feel confident we can beat them.”
Never miss a local story.
The other semifinal will pit Florida against Tennessee. The championship game is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday with the winner earning a berth in the Little League Softball World Series Aug. 13-19 in Portland, Ore.
