The mother of a family of four, from Marietta who crashed Monday on Interstate 75 in Peach County, was pronounced dead Friday morning at 5:17 a.m, according to Kelly Rooks, the Peach County coroner.
Jeanette Prather, 51, is the second member of her family to die from the single-vehicle crash. Prather’s 15-year-old son Matthew Prather died immediately after the incident.
Michael Prather, 49, who was driving the 2001 Toyota Sienna, and Stephen Prather, 18, both survived without sustaining serious injuries — neither was admitted to the Medical Center of Central Georgia for treatment.
Jeanette Prather had been in critical condition at the Medical Center since the crash took place.
Never miss a local story.
The wreck took place after Michael Prather heard a noise coming from the vehicle and attempted to pull over, losing control of the vehicle, according to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Mark Collier on the day of the crash.
The van slid sideways and then overturned.
The vehicle was headed northbound on I-75 near mile marker 143 between the Ga. 96 exit and the Russell Parkway exit.
