Macon-based American Pride Bank has opened its first branch – a $3.5 million office in Warner Robins.
The community bank opened the 7,400-square-foot building on Russell Drive last week. Its main office opened in December 2007 on Log Cabin Drive.
The bank has the federal designation of a minority depository institution because the majority of its shareholders and directors are Indian.
President Richard Cathey said the bank is believed to have raised the most startup money – more than $26 million – of any Georgia bank outside metro-Atlanta.
Never miss a local story.
The bank focuses on commercial customers, but has lots of consumer clients, as well, Cathey said.
“We’re making loans and taking deposits and doing our part to move the economy forward,” he said.
