A Dodge County man is expected to be charged with malice murder today in the bludgeoning death of his wife.
Michael Anthony McNair, 48, of Old Empire Road is being held in the Bleckley County Jail after calling authorities Sunday to report the killing, said Greg Harvey, special agent in charge of the GBI's Eastman office.
"He bludgeoned her, left the scene and drove to his mother's house in Cochran and called the Dodge County authorities and told them where to find her," Harvey said.
Harvey said the couple was arguing when 48-year-old Peggy Ann McNair was killed at about 9 a.m. Sunday.
An autopsy is pending before McNair is charged in the crime, Harvey said.
Dodge County Sheriff Jeff Hinson said Bleckley County deputies arrested McNair and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is handling the domestic homicide investigation.
