Power has been restored to north Houston County after dense fog led to an early morning accident at U.S. 41 and the Dunbar Road.
At about 3:44 a.m. a motorist ran a stop sign in the fog and hit a utility pole which knocked out power from Centerville to the north side of Houston County, said Sgt. Jim Adams of Houston 911.
He urged all drivers to use extreme caution as a dense fog advisory is posted until 9 a.m.
"Of course with the fog it's going to be a terrible rush hour," Adams said.
The outage was repaired shortly after 6 a.m., authorities said.
