ABOUT THE MACON IN THE MIRROR PROJECT

The Center for Collaborative Journalism -- in partnership with The Telegraph and GPB -- is compiling what you have to say about life in Macon — what’s important to you, what frustrates you, what pleases you about the city. In the process, we’ll introduce you to interesting people across the community and highlight issues that surface. Day care volunteer Lucile Clark, center, talks with college journalist Laura Corley in the rear of New Hope Baptist Church, where she said almost nothing frustrates her about the city of Macon. She said she attacks problems head-on and has no problem going straight to the top when she needs to. I have no problem picking up the phone and calling the mayor or the chief of police or the sheriff, she said. Clarks nephew T.J. Blackshear, also recording the action, said he, too, was a journalist.
