A Macon man shot himself in the hand Monday night while unloading a pistol, a Bibb County sheriff’s report said.

The man, John Reed, 22, grazed his left hand between his thumb and index finger while unloading a gun he had been hunting with earlier in the day, the report said.

Reed was treated at The Medical Center of Central Georgia and later was released.
