A shipment of about 5,000 swine flu vaccines reached Middle Georgia health departments Monday.
The shipment is for health departments in the North Central Health District’s 13-county area, and supplies will vary by county, said Jennifer Jones, a spokeswoman for the district. It’s best to call ahead first before going to get the vaccine.
“We didn’t get a lot, so it’ll probably go pretty quickly,” she said.
Monday’s shipment was all injectables. The shots are approved for people 6 months of age or older.
For those who go to their local health department for the swine flu shot, there is no charge, Jones said.
