Prayer for today (7/14/14)

O Holy Jesus, ‘Just as I am, O Lamb of God, I come to thee’. These words of a beautiful hymn are so uplifting and heartfelt. You, Lord and you alone, understand our needs and wants. There is a place in every day where we can find you, already there, to listen,to heal, to comfort, and to raise us up. I need you so, to help me understand this suffering and strife in today’s world, There are words of doubt and despair among your people. There is a wind of turning away from your holy word. I pray for mankind to look to the one who made us and will be with us always. until the end of time. Today I especially ask that you will be with our orphans. I know that they are in your mighty hands and that we are summoned to care for them on this earth. Open our dimmed eyes to see this need. Blessed Jesus, you are my everything. In your holy name, I pray, Amen.
