A Macon man was killed in a dirt bike accident Sunday.
Dexter Green, 35, was killed after he apparently lost control of the motorbike after 5 p.m. Sunday, said Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones. He was pronounced dead about an hour later at The Medical Center of Central Georgia.
Jones said Green died of head trauma and neck trauma, though he had been wearing a helmet.
Green had been riding alone in the rear of Christian Avenue near Whitfield Street in west Macon. The area is near the Macon Mall, state Farmers Market and Chuck E Cheese’s.

Jones said no autopsy will be performed. Blood was drawn for toxicology tests, but no alcohol or other intoxicants are suspected.
The Macon Police Department said Green lost control of a 50cc Baja motorcycle when he was trying to turn left onto Whitfield Drive. The motorcycle crashed into a curb and into bushes, where it suddenly stopped. Green was thrown from the motorcycle and through a chain link fence to land in a parking lot, according to a police department news release.
The motorbike was borrowed from a youth in the neighborhood, Jones said.
