OK, the headline may be a bit of stretch. Honestly, who looks forward to going back to work?
Anyway, I hope you loyal dozens were able to watch TV over the past week while I was gone.
I've gotten the new pilots for ABC, CW and CBS, and I'm in the process of reviewing them as the summer season winds down. I'm hoping NBC and Fox soon send me stuff, but it's a bit hit and miss anyway.
I'll start reviewing them over the next couple of weeks in time for the new season to start, but today is a catch-up day for me.
MONDAY'S BEST BETS: You can log into macon.com at 1 p.m. to be part of an interactive chat with Telegraph reporters Amy Leigh Womack and Joe Kovac about the Lauren Giddings murder.
On the tube tonight, MTV debuts a new comedy at 10:30 p.m. called "Death Valley." It looks to be sort of in the vein of "Reno 911," except it uses the "Cops" shooting style to follow two patrol cops as they handle cases involving zombies, vampires and other supernatural creatures. The commercials have looked good enough so that I plan to catch tonight's pilot. That'll make two MTV series I've watched this year, which is two more than I've watched in the last decade.
ABC has "The Bachelor Pad" on at 8 p.m.
On cable, "The Closer" and "Rizzoli & Isles" are both new, beginning at 9 p.m. SyFy has new episodes of "Eureka," "Warehouse 13" and "Alphas" from 8-11 p.m.
"Secret Life of an American Teenager" and "The Lying Game" are both new on ABC Family from 8-10 p.m.
Finally, Showtime has new episodes of "Weeds" and "The Big C" from 10-11 p.m.
