Friday at the Hummingbird Stage and Taproom
Sometimes bands form because friends are just having a good time playing together. When that happens, we all come along for a fun ride. Hott With Harry Leggs plays a fun blend of blues and rock. You’ll hear old favorites as well as Harry Leggs originals. 21 and up. 10 p.m. $5.
Friday at Midtown Key Club
It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Anthony David in Macon. The Atlanta-based soul singer first visited Macon when he stopped in for Poetic Peace at the Jazzplex in the first years of the event. Now, he returns as Poetic Peace is celebrating 11 years of spoken word, music and art! The Grammy-nominated David has a smooth delivery that is well worth a listen. 21 and up. Doors open at 9 p.m. $20.
Never miss a local story.
Saturday at Macon’s Terminal Station
Butler Toyota and Macon Arts Alliance have teamed up to bring a very fun night of dancing, great food and more to downtown Macon! Put on your bell bottoms and platform shoes (don’t go to Party City and buy an afro wig -- that is so lame) and head to Terminal Station for a Studio 54-themed Taste of the Arts gala! Enjoy a celebrity chef tasting competition, a silent auction, a New York city getaway raffle, dancing and more. 7 p.m. $50.
Saturday at Whiskey River
Mystikal is one of New Orleans’ iconic rappers. He helped shape the sound that became popular in the late ’90s and early 2000s. Songs such as “Danger,” “Shake It Fast” and “The Man Right Chea” became recognizable by the hip-hop community and beyond. Doors open at 9 p.m. $25 in advance.
Saturday at Fish N’ Pig
The Crossroads Band is just a good time anytime you run across them. When a good ole’ group of guys who really love music get together to play Southern rock, blues and classic rock, you’re in for something special. These guys know their instruments, too, so expect to hear some of the best playing you’ve heard in awhile! Get to Fish N’ Pig early to get a good seat; these nights get really busy. All ages. 7 p.m. Free.
