Warner Robins Little Theatre is proud to present its third show of the fall season, “Baggage.”
“Baggage” is the story of two people, both single and both trying to get over their previous relationships, who mix up their luggage at the airport. Their first meeting is unpleasant, but a friendship begins that eventually blossoms into more.
Katie Manning is directing “Baggage” for the theater. The cast includes Phyllis, Karen Harkins; Bradley, David Hightower; Mitzi, Kelly Monaghan and Dr. Alexander, Driscoll Clemons.
“They are both disagreeable people, Phyllis and Bradley,” Manning said, “and as they sort out their baggage, they realize that they both aren’t good with relationships and decided to practice on each other to have one and fall in love.”
The story is a comedy but with a few lessons along the way.
“They both learn to accept people as they are,” Manning said. “If a relationship is meant to be, it will be.”
With only four people in the cast, the pressure is on, said Manning, who is in her fifth season of directing for Warner Robins Little Theatre.
“Our last show had a larger cast. We like to mix the season up, big cast, then little cast. I think it is more challenging to direct with a smaller cast. First, there is just the amount of dialogue the cast has to learn -- with only four people it is not spread out as much. Plus, with just four people, each person stands out so they have got to have their character perfected.”
Also, mark your calendars for the Warner Robins Little Theatre’s fall fundraiser performance of “Off Book” by Cochran playwright Andy Davidson. To be held Nov. 22-24, the Warner Robins Little Theatre’s production will mark the first time “Off Book” has been performed. Manning’s daughter Cheryl Lindstrom will be directing “Off Book.”
