Police arrest fifth man in string of robberies

Macon police announced the arrests of a fifth man today in connection with recent robberies in the city, a release said.

Thanks to a tip received through Macon Regional CrimeStoppers, the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Jeremy Antwon Taylor, 17, and charged him with armed robbery, the release said.

Taylor was part of a group arrested that included Aaron Davis, 17; Antwoin Roberson, 18; Christopher Williams, 20; and a 16-year-old juvenile, all of whom took part in a series of armed robberies that took place from Oct. 26-Nov. 2, law enforcement officials said.

Among those robberies that took place were at Mrs. Winners restaurant on Pio Nono Avenue on Oct. 26, in which Davis, Roberson and Taylor are suspects; the robbery of a woman on Blount Street who was pistol whipped and robbed Nov. 1., in which Davis, Williams, Roberson and the juvenile are suspects; the Nov. 2 robbery of a man on Hightower Road, in which Davis, Williams, Roberson and the juvenile are suspects; and the Nov. 2 robbery of a man at the Taco Bell on Eisenhower Parkway, in which Davis, Williams, Roberson and the juvenile are suspects.
