The Warner Robins American Little League will host Softball World Series Championship Game Night Saturday to honor the Little League Softball world champions.
The event begins with a meet and greet session with the team at 6:30 p.m. at Chick-fil-A, 1867 Watson Blvd. Team members will sign autographs and pose for pictures. Hats, balls and shirts will be available for a donation to WRALL, said Scott Barker, a player representative for WRALL.
At 8 p.m., guests will be able to watch the championship game on a screen in Chick-fil-A’s parking lot.
“We’re just proud of the girls,” said Barker, whose daughter is on the team. “We appreciate how the community has treated us.”
Chick-Fil-A invited the team to host the event there, said Mandy Stella, marketing director for the restaurant’s Warner Robins locations. Ten percent of the Chick-fil-A’s sales from the event will also be donated to WRALL.
“We hope the community can get involved,” Stella said. “We’re proud of everything they’ve accomplished. I hope we have a good turnout so they can see that.”
Chick-Fil-A is co-sponsoring the event, along with Hobbs Home Medical, State Farm Insurance-Andy Thomas, Optimist International, Cantrell Wellness Center and McNeal Agency Inc.
The girls’ team is also slated to appear at Cold Stone Creamery in Warner Robins for the Make-A-Wish Foundation on Sept. 24 and will be honored at the beginning of the Sept. 26 football game at the University of Georgia.
