Houston County deputies, fire fighters and utility company workers scrambled after a truck carrying logs collided with a van carrying four people at the intersection of Old Hawkinsville Road and Ga. 96 Wednesday afternoon. The accident sent five to hospitals and severed electric power to many users in the area.
