Man accidentally shoots himself

Macon police responded to a call early Friday morning about a man who shot himself in the left leg while sitting on his couch, a report said.

The report said Charles Williams, 52, of Atkins Drive, told officers he was sitting on the couch with the gun in his lap. When he picked up the gun, it discharged, the report said.

Williams was taken to an area hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
