A Macon man was shot in the back early Saturday morning after being attacked by three masked men near the intersection of Lexington Street and Emery Highway, according to the Macon police.

Ricky Gordon, 33, of Melbourne Street, told police he was giving a friend a ride home at about 2:30 a.m., but the two stopped off on the way so the friend could buy beer from a bootlegger, according to a police report released Monday. While waiting for the beer, Gordon walked into a pathway to urinate and was grabbed by a man who pulled him into some bushes, according to the report.

Gordon escaped from the man, but was shot as he ran away, according to the report.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 751-7500 or Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at (877) 68-CRIME.
