Super Science Sleuth: Super Science Sleuths will enjoy hands-on science experiments, games, songs, crafts and stories. Some of our experiments will be making chalk, crayons, rubber balls and ice cream. We will explore the world around us and find some answers to why. Camp includes lunch, naptime and outdoor playtime. 3rd Rock from the Sun: Learn about the different types of bodies in the cosmos — moons, asteroids, planets — and what they’re made of. Campers make their own telescope and spectroscope, keep a sun journal and create a gemstone collection to explore the varied nature of the materials that make up the physical world around us. Robotics I Academy: For students entering sixth–eighth grades. 9 a.m.–3 p.m. June 2-3. Students will learn the basics about robots and build an award winning OWI robot to take home. $100.
Rocket Science Academy: For students entering fifth–eighth grades. 9 a.m.–3 p.m. June 5-6. The perfect academy for the rocket enthusiast; students will launch several types of rockets and learn the basics of flight. All participants get to keep their rocket after the launch. $75.
Robotics II Academy: For students entering sixth–eighth grade. 9 a.m.–3 p.m. June 23–27. Students will design and build Lego robots using the Lego Mindstorm activity sets. The academy will end with a mini bot-ball competition. $200.
Engineering/Manufacture Academy: For students entering sixth–eighth grade. 9 a.m.–3 p.m. June 30–July 3. Students will design and build a project using Pro/Desktop software and a 3-D manufacturing printer. $125.
Fort Valley State University Summer Research Apprenticeship Program
The six-week program, June 9 to July 18, is a research-based program for high school seniors graduating this May. Meet and interact with research scientists and conduct independent laboratory research projects under the supervision of a faculty mentor. $500 stipend, paid housing, travel and meals and access to campus facilities. Tattnall Square Academy
French Mini-Course: Students will improve their French and prepare for the CLEF exam, or they can gain confidence to pass their college’s foreign language requirement, opening the opportunity for other electives in college. Blast Off To Science Camp: Camp participants will enjoy the principles of flight and rocketry. Take home projects include paper airplanes, shuttles, UFOs, straw rockets and bottle rockets. Each participant will build his own rocket to be launched the last day of camp (parents are invited to attend). Instructor: June Moncrief. 9:30 a.m.-noon. June 23-27. Getting Ready for Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II: Thorough exploration of the beginning chapters of the math text book students will be using in order to build confidence and help them set the tone for the upcoming school year. Wesleyan Math and Science Residential Camps
Wesleyan’s Spectacles math and science residential camp for girls include field trips, experiments and projects using the college’s new state-of-the-art science laboratories and computer facilities. Also included are conversations with women who have discovered exciting careers in science and math-related fields, the chance to learn from faculty members in Wesleyan’s division of science and mathematics and computer information systems and the chance to spend time with other middle-school girls interested in math and science. July 13-19: Spectacles I is designed for rising sixth- and seventh-grade grade girls. July 20-26: Spectacles II is designed for rising eighth- and ninth-grade girls. "Read-Write" Workshop
The "Read-Write" workshop uses the Linda Mood-Bell approach to strengthen reading comprehension and language expression skills through developing imagery and visualization. If your child has difficulty in the following areas, he/she may benefit from this program: memory and comprehension; poor, slow fatiguing reading ability; avoidance of written assignments; bores easily; can't do word problems in math; can't express himself well; seems to miss the main idea; poor logical thinking and problem analysis; difficulty following directions; accused of daydreaming or being "spaced out" in the classroom. Kids Theatre Camp
Macon Little Theatre in association with The Academy of the Performing Arts presents a camp for children that teaches theater skills and culminates in a public performance of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" under the direction of Sylvia Haynie and Laura Voss.

Campers experiment with different media in lots of hands-on projects. Some of the projects and techniques include painting, mask making, jewelry making, fiber art and much more. Fort Valley State University
Fame Summer Camp allows students in grades 7-12 to experience a fine arts and media program combining orchestra, band, choir, drama, dance, poetry, forensic, drawing and painting, computer design and video/radio production in a university setting. The daily camp schedule includes morning rehearsals/sessions in the area of concentration and one afternoon elective. Private lessons are also available for an additional fee. Evenings may include activities, such as a pizza party, movie night and a dance night. June 8-June 20. The Fine Arts Summer Camp concludes with an art exhibition at 4:30 p.m. in the C.W. Pettigrew Center, followed by the Gala Performance and Video/Radio Production at 5 p.m., which is followed by a reception. Otis Redding Singer/Songwriter Camp
The Georgia Music Hall of Fame hosts the Otis Redding Singer/Songwriter Camp June 23-27 for ages 13-17. Workshops include songwriting fundamentals, recording workshop, voice class with nationally acclaimed instructor Jan Smith, Drumming for Success with Dr. Arvin Scott and overviews of Georgia music history and the music business. Fun With Music: Introduction to Keyboard Music Skills
For children ages 3-8. Dancing Fingers-Singing Hearts Music School is offering one-week keyboard music camps for children. Parents partner with their children to experience singing, solfege, rhythm and movement games, keyboard playing and note reading.
