The search for a trailer involved in a fatal accident Monday in Lamar County now focuses on a dark pickup.

Thursday, the Georgia State Patrol released new photos taken from a dashboard camera of a Lamar County sheriff’s patrol car parked near where a 53-year-old Alpharetta man was killed changing a tire in the southbound emergency lane shortly before 1 p.m.

In the frames, an extended cab pickup, possibly black, is seen in the middle lane pulling an empty flatbed trailer.

A tractor trailer also seen in the images was not involved, according to a GSP news release.

Investigators believe the driver was not aware of a tire that came off the trailer and fatally wounded Brian Edward Durst on the side of the road.

Troopers released another set of photographs Wednesday of a dark silver SUV pulling a boat, but after interviews investigators homed in the search to the pickup.

Anyone with information on the vehicle, trailer or driver is asked to call the Georgia State Patrol at the Newnan Communications Center at 770-254-7201.
