Southern Conference announces broadcast schedule

Two Mercer football games will be broadcast this season as part of the Southern Conference's 14-game football package.

Eight games will appear on ESPN3, while six will be available on the newly formed American Sports Network, an initiative launched by the Sinclair Broadcast Group.

Mercer's first Southern Conference game, against Furman on Sept. 6, will be broadcast on ESPN3. The Bears' game at Chattanooga on Oct. 25 will be broadcast by the American Sports Network.

The American Sport Network consists of commercial TV stations owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group and reaches close to 40 percent of all TV households in the United States with 167 stations in 77 markets.

Sept. 6: Furman at Mercer, ESPN3

Sept. 20: VMI at Samford, ESPN3

Sept. 27: Western Carolina at Furmana, ASN

Sept. 27: Samford at Chattanooga, ASN

Oct. 4: The Citadel at Wofford, ESPN3

Oct. 11: Wofford at Western Carolina, ESPN3

Oct. 18: Chattanooga at The Citade, ASN

Oct. 25: Mercer at Chattanooga, ASN

Nov. 1: Furman at VMI, ESPN3

Nov. 8: Wofford at Chattanooga, ESPN3

Nov. 8: Western Carolina at Samford, ASN

Nov. 15: Wofford at Furman, ESPN3

Nov. 22: The Citadel at VMI, ESPN3

Nov. 22: Chattanooga at Furman, ASN
