C-130 to be towed down Ga. 247 Thursday morning

Motorists should avoid Ga. 247 in front of Robins Air Force Base for part of Thursday morning.

From 9 until 10:30 a.m., a Robins crew is towing a C-130 cargo plane from the north end of the base to the Museum of Aviation. The plane will then be taken through a gate behind the museum to a mock air base at Robins to be used for training purposes.

Commuters traveling south while the plane is being towed can expect delays. Northbound traffic shouldn’t be impacted except when the plane makes the turn into the museum, officials said.
